
About Jo-ann
Jo-ann focuses on psychotherapy with adults – but assists with adolescent and children’s interests in her work with adults in therapy or mediation. However, she does not work with adolescents or children for therapy.
She sees patients struggling with mental health challenges from severe clinical disorders such as depression and anxiety disorders to milder emotional struggles with life and living. Interpersonal relationships and assisting couples and individuals struggling in relationships are an important part of her work. Jo-ann continues to develop her skills via ongoing professional development and training. She is registered with the HPCSA, FAMAC, and CPF and regularly attends courses and workshops.

How do I go about choosing a Psychologist?
Psychologists will generally have specific areas of interest and tend to focus on a particular type of problem. If you have been referred by a doctor it may be that they have made the referral based on their belief that the psychologist they have recommended is most suitably qualified to address your specific concern.
What is the cost per session?
Session rates are based on Medical Aid guidelines, which are updated annually. Discounted rates may apply for accounts settled on the day of consultation or before the end of the treatment month. For more information regarding session rates please contact Jo-ann.
How can I pay for my sessions?
Payments can be made by cash or bank transfer. There are also credit/debit card facilities available.
Will my Medical Aid cover my sessions?
Most Medical Aids will cover a number of therapy sessions, depending on your specific plan. It is advisable to contact your Medical Aid to establish what coverage they will provide for psychological services.
Appointments and bookings
Appointments with new patients are made subject to availability and can be made via email or WhatsApp to establish if an opening is available and to set up an appointment.
Follow-up appointments would need to be made directly with Jo-ann, however provision for current and previous clients will be prioritised.
